My Philosophy and Approach
With a compassionate approach and an utmost commitment to you, I strive to offer a grounding supportive and confidential space where you can explore and understand yourself, your relationships, and your place in the world. My practice is relational, and trauma-informed, grounded in curiosity, and a deep belief in the human capacity for transformation.
Rooted in rigorous training across Integrative, Psychodynamics, Relational psychoanalytic, and Existential psychotherapy, and informed by my ongoing Buddhist practice, my approach recognises impermanence, uncertainty, suffering, and change as inherent aspects of being human. We will think and feel together on how meaning can be found within it by looking at your thoughts, emotions, dreams and the unconscious. Psychotherapy offers a unique opportunity to engage with these existential givens, to reflect, inquire, and connect more deeply with life, self, and others. I am a compassionate and challenging therapist.
Together, we pay close attention to your lived experience, understanding your past to clarify and reflect on what arises to foster deeper awareness and insight. Your story matters, and it matters to me. This process can be challenging and gradual, inviting patience, commitment, and openness. I aim to create a space that does not pathologise struggle or impose fixed ideals of ‘mental health’, but instead seek to understand what your experiences may be communicating.
Central to my practice is an awareness of the social, cultural, and political contexts that shape who we are. I am dedicated to developing transformative, politically conscious healing spaces, particularly for marginalised and racialised communities. I hold a keen interest in how systemic injustices contribute to distress, and I work to integrate social and political awareness into compassionate therapeutic care. We consider not only your personal experiences, but also how familial, societal, and structural narratives influence the way you relate to yourself and others.
My approach is reflective, embodied, and dialogical, meeting you where you are and honouring your pace. All bodies, identities, and gender expressions are welcomed and respected. Together, we explore how the stories and conditions that shape us might be re-examined, enabling a renewed sense of agency, connection, and vitality.
